TPLF Orchestrated Conflict Continues in Ethiopia: This time Between Oromo with Somali Issa and Gumuz.

(OLF News, July 12, 2009) Our sources from eastern Oromia reported that a conflict concocted by TPLF-EPRDF cadres between the neighboring Oromos and Somali Issas has taken at least one person’s life and damaged a considerable amount of property. In this conflict, which started this past week in Miesso district (Ona Mi’eessoo) at a place known as daalachaa, an Oromo whose name is Amme Huseen Boruu was instantly killed and several others have been injured from both sides.

Meanwhile, our correspondents from Western Oromia reported that another conflict between Oromo and Gumuz flared up in Eastern Wallagaa zone, Haroo Limmuu district and the regimes cadres are reported to engage in arming the Gumuz against the Oromo as usual. In this conflict armed Gumuz fighters attacked unprepared Oromo farmers and have abducted 9 of the farmers and have taken to the Gumuz side and they are reportedly being tortured at a place called Kumashi.

In another news in the area, Oromo farmers are expelled from their land by the name of investment and their land has been given to Tigrean investors, which reportedly created another dimension to the problems of the farmers in the area.

On several occasions over the last 18 or so years during the current administration different clans of the same Oromo communities such as Borana and Gabra, Borana and Guji, Borana and Gari have fought deadly, due to conflicts cooked by the TPLF regime, in which several people died from both and sides property has been destroyed in a massive scale. Moreover, there have been repeated incidents of conflict between Oromos and other people neighboring Oromia such as the Oromo and Somali, Oromo and Sidama, Oromo and Afar, Oromo and Harari, Oromo and Amhara, Oromo and Benishangul, Oromo and Gumuz, and so on. Over the last couple of months alone two rounds of conflict between Afar and Oromo, two rounds of conflicts between Oromo and Sidama and this time another round of conflict between Oromos and Somali Issas and between Oromos and Gumuz.
